Will consumers & marketers circumvent media companies?
Media companies are now being bypassed as marketers go directly to their audiences through sites like Google and Yahoo:
in this 3 Minute Ad Age report, Ad Age editor Jonah Bloom predicts media companies will have a rough time in 2008 as marketers bypass them with more direct-to-consumer advertising. And, a new study by Borrell Associates finds that stand-alone web companies like Google and Yahoo now control more of the local online advertising market than the websites of country’s newspaper companies.
