Flu in Vancouver
Over the last 2 weeks several NowPublic employees have been hit with a brutal flu that has at times sent people to the hospital. Now I’m hearing reports of hotels with outbreaks and otherwise healthy people having trouble breathing. I haven’t seen any news of this in the local media. In fact CKNW is claiming that this year’s season is unusually mild:
Vancouver’s Chief Medical Health Officer Doctor Patricia Daly says the City has only experienced isolated cases of influenza this year, “Yes, it’s here, but so far a very mild season. It’s still not too late however, to get a flu shot because we might see it hit over the next few months in greater numbers.”
Daly cautions the flu season could still get worse before it gets better.
Let us know if your workplace or family get hit.
