Articles on the trending issues of the day are written and assembled by Producers who provide the most relevant background, photos, videos and updates needed to understand and join the digital dialogue. Our reporters file stories from 6,000 cities in 160 countries to enhance news with the scope, expertise and eyewitness accounts that make sense of it.
If you’re currently in a journalism program, freelancing, or looking to retool print skills for the Web, consider us a paid retraining opportunity that will provide you transferrable career skills and a chance to work directly with leading pioneers in the industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong research, composition and multimedia curatoral skills
- Experience sourcing relevant content from Flickr, Twitter, Facebook,, YouTube
- Knowledge of the blogosphere and trending topics in a live-search environment
- Ability to anticipate trending topics and post 250-600 news articles
- Ability to quickly jump on breaking stories and stay with them as they unfold
- Competency with search optimized keywords, titling, linking, tagging, formatting
- A good eye for newsworthy photos and video to accompany text reports
Terms of Engagement
- Be available a minimum of 16-20 hours per week on flexible schedule in the Vancouver office or working remotely
- Willingness to commit to a 3-month program, start time flexible
- Own a laptop computer
